Welcome/Welcome Back event for Living Word Lutheran High School
On Saturday, Aug. 31, we welcomed one new student, Ji Liu. Five returning students — Katherine, Simon, Kevin, Rong and Mickey — were also present. Kayson is their mentor. Christine brought Michael Carini who is an Education major student at UW Eau Claire to assist the group. Linda and Lori also joined the activity.
Students arrived at Evelen25 food court for welcome lunch at noon. Students enjoyed Chinese food especially spicy chicken, beef and bubble tea.
After the lunch, Linda and Michael gave them a tour of downtown art exhibits and walked around the shore of lake Michigan with the group. The students also enjoyed ice cream by the beach.
At 3 pm, students returned to Eleven25 and toured the facility. Then left for a shopping at Mo’s Chinese Grocery Store. Students had a wonderful time spending a day at Milwaukee downtown.
Christine talked with Lori and students to plan some future activities. Here are their suggestions.
- Bucks Game (students will pick a game and get tickets, WAGET will sponsor the dinner)
- Trip to Milwaukee Art Museum
- Bumper Car race at Point Burger Bar and shopping at the mall.
- Pumpkin cookie making or carving, and dumpling making
We will connect with Lori later and plan accordingly.
