Washington Seminar
Over this summer, WAGET sponsored Marquette University Student, Miranda Hartje, to attended the Washington Seminar offered through The Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service (WIPPS). The Washington Seminar, a 3-week summer course led and taught by UW Colleges faculty, provides an up-close and personal view of the workings of government, with access to congressional and executive leaders, lobbyists and other policy-influencers. Students who attend also are able to earn 3 college credits. Miranda said that, “This experience showed me the behind the scenes workings of our government. Everyone on the trip was so great to work with, and I even scored a couple internship opportunities while out in Washington D.C. I would recommend this trip to anyone who is going into or just interested in politics.” You can learn more about WIPPS here: https://wipps.org/what-we-do/develop-future-leaders/washington-seminar/
